醫療公關Moon手記-艾怡良頒錯獎事件

If the picture is accurate, the organizer bears the greatest responsibility. The organizer’s job is to ensure that the ceremony proceeds smoothly, and the card in the picture is there to help the award winners understand and clearly read out the results. Moreover, the design of the characters varies wildly in size. Some are too big, some are too small, and the overall layout is incorrect. There’s insufficient labeling, which can lead to confusion among the recipients. They’ll forget who won what, and they’ll only remember that ‘the wrong award was given’ and that the event was disorganized.

No matter who the participants are or how well-prepared they are, as coordinators and public relations officers, we can make the best preparations for different scenarios.

In this case, the text on the award card should be laid out from left to right, top to bottom, in the order it is meant to be read. The name of the award, the winner, the company, the judges, etc., should be clearly written and organized by importance. It’s also helpful to include a ‘Pronunciation: xx’ after words that are difficult to pronounce or likely to be mispronounced, or to offer a ‘gentle reminder’ before the event to ensure everything is correct. This is to prepare for the rare chance of mishaps, so that the participants feel at ease and the event runs smoothly. If PR had implemented the above measures, I believe this incident would not have occurred.

It’s really the responsibility of PR.
